Actor I Singer I Dancer
Who am I? Gluten free. Vans. Avril Lavigne. Forests. Dachshunds. Music overload. A free-spirited over thinker. Quietly loud. Openly reserved. A lover of snacks, creation, the Creator, creating, and people.
I am a 22 year old South African, who looks more like I belong in the heart of Dublin. With parents and a brother who are all passionate creatives at their core, I grew up with not one dull moment. Falling asleep listening to my dad play music, while my mom created art in the dining room, was familiar and comforting. It instilled in me the deepest love for music and the Arts that has not once wavered. I found my place in musical theatre at the age of 11 and went on to study it full time. The stage feels like home; and people who have lived that will know what I mean. Another place that feels like home, is with my God. He is the song that I sing, and the reason and inspiration for it all.
I dream of working for NGOs where I can fight against human trafficking – the heartbeat of my life is to help others where I can. I dream of travelling the world as somewhat of a gypsy, growing as I am able to soak up and take note of the lives of others. I dream of following my passions all my life, and never taking my ability to choose freedom for granted.
I’d like to always be a fish that swims the opposite way to the hamster wheel current, pursuing a life of big and small adventure, and using what I’ve got to truly love others.
Q&A
1. What’s your biggest achievement / Something you’re proud of yourself for?
“I am proud of the fact that I continually choose to chase after a life filled with doings things I am passionate about. I nearly backed out of studying Musical Theatre, but instead chose to push past the fear of the unknowns that come along with this career path. I am so thankful I did. I am also proud of the fact that I discarded the cage of “but what will they think of me?” after years of struggling with people pleasing; I finally got the tattoo and started to say what I mean.”
2. What’s your biggest fear / something that holds you back?
“ Something that often holds me back is a feeling of overwhelm. Because I envision so much, I tend to want to do it all… I am not the best implementer I’ve ever met. I’ve been learning to lean on those around me who are better at rationalizing life, and being content with being faithful with the little and trusting things will grow from there.“
3. What’s your biggest contribution / Something you like to share?
” I love to share music and the creative. I believe so strongly in the power of these things to heal and change and encourage; much like they have done for me.
However, I would hope my biggest contribution is just my empathy and love for people. To show others kindness, gentleness, the love of the Lord and to maybe see the music that’s somewhere inside everything in life. “
4. Fun Facts:
“I am in a pop punk band, inspired by the early 2000s and the skate culture that came along with it. We will be releasing music very very soon!”
Thank you for being you!
