Angel Campey is an award-winning South African comedian, radio presenter, writer and MC based in Cape Town. Best known as the host of the popular afternoon show: The JOYRIDE on Smile FM (the only female-led drive show in the city).
With her hit stand-up shows, Angel has built a career on sharp observations, quick wit and relatable storytelling. Whether she’s behind a microphone in studio or on stage, she loves connecting with people through common laughter and finding humour in everyday life.

1. What’s your biggest achievement / Something you’re proud of yourself for?
“Being able to build a career doing two things I love (comedy and radio) and connecting with people through laughter. I’m especially proud of creating work that makes people feel seen and less alone, whether that’s on stage, on air, or through the stories I tell.”
2. What’s your biggest fear / something that holds you back?
“Ironically, one of my biggest challenges is imposter syndrome. I’m learning to take up space. I’m naturally a people pleaser, so standing up for myself and putting myself out there doesn’t always come naturally to me.”
3. What’s your biggest contribution / Something you like to share?
“Humour and honesty. I love creating spaces where people can laugh at life’s chaos, have real conversations, and feel a little lighter when they leave.”
