Nadia Neophytou

I’m a South African journalist based in New York, where I write for various publications, from The Hollywood Reporter to Billboard, Deadline, OkayAfrica, BBC Culture and more. When I’m not running, I’m running and volunteering with community initiatives — sometimes at the same time, for example, with the group, Running to Protest, which holds ongoing socially-conscious runs.

Q&A

1. What’s your biggest achievement / Something you’re proud of yourself for?

Moving to New York with two bags in one hand, and a dream to interview Meryl Streep in the other.

2. What’s your biggest fear / something that holds you back?

Doubting my abilities – and whether I have what it takes to achieve the things I want to achieve.

3. What’s your biggest contribution / Something you like to share?

I am always supporting and promoting great and talented Africans, from across a variety of fields, so I always like sharing these stories. You can also rely on me for film, TV and music recommendations — as I have plenty of these!

Fun Facts:

“I’ve run 9 marathons – this year I aim to make it 10. I’m also Greek-Cypriot. “
