Q&A

1. What’s your biggest achievement / Something you’re proud of yourself for?

” I’m honoured to work in the South African media industry and see my work as a service to our viewers and listeners! If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be employed. But my greatest achievement is that I get to do what I love and still stay my true to my authentic self. Some days are harder than others, and I do go into “presenter-mode” as a coping mechanism when I feel vulnerable and insecure, but that’s only because the platform I work on isn’t always the kindest.

2. What’s your biggest fear / something that holds you back?

Something that holds me back is my fear of disappointment and failure. Unfortunately, from a young age I’ve been somewhat of a people-pleaser, which is a very dangerous and self-destructive quality to have (especially in the media industry). It’s a daily ongoing process to untangle myself from what other expect from me and to rather shift the focus on only pleasing myself (but in an unselfish way). THIS IS EASIER SAID THAN DONE!

3. What’s your biggest contribution / Something you like to share?

” If I can bring a smile to someone’s day, I feel like I’ve served my purpose. I love that my platform has had a positive impact on others! I recently shared my own fitness journey with my followers on social media, and I’ve been inundated with women sharing similar struggles that I went through. They’ve shared how they found inspiration in my vulnerability and fitness journey, and that they too have taken the steps to work on their own.”
